In his Oscar speech, the otherwise brilliant Asghar Farhadi writes:
"My absence is out of respect for the people in my country and those of other six nations whom have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the USA. Dividing the world into the us and the enemy categories creates fear, a deceitful justification for regression and war!"

Indeed Mr. Farhadi, we are fed up with almost 40 years of ongoing disrespect for the people of Iran by the government of Iran! We have had enough of the ugly rhetoric and Islamist slogans such as "Death to America!" You have the right to object to a few weeks of possibly a bad policy in USA and sleep safely in your bed at night. But for decades you have had no freedom of speech in Iran. I hope one day, you will have the freedom to object to the incredible injustice and hypocrisy practiced by the government of your own country without fear of imprisonment and torture.
