MG:

ne of the victims of Ukrainian Airlines Flight 752 that crashed near Tehran this week was the daughter of one of the architects of the Islamic Republic.

Niloufar Sadr, 61, was born in Iran. Her father played a key role as an architect of the Islamic Republic in the 1970s — though he was a moderate. Ahmad Sayyed Javadi helped draft the constitution of the Islamic Republic and served as minister of the interior and minister of justice in the first interim government. However, after his government resigned en masse, he became a vocal critic of the state and was arrested twice: once in 1985 and again in 2001 when he was 81 years old. He was tortured and considered to be an enemy of the state. He continued to be an outspoken critic well into his 90s and died in 2013 at the age of 95.
