Former CBC radio host Jian Ghomeshi has been charged with four counts of sexual assault and left a Toronto courthouse Wednesday afternoon without saying a word as dozens of reporters hurled questions at him.

In an extremely brief statement during a wild scrum outside of the courtroom, Ghomeshi’s lawyer, Marie Henein, said her client would be pleading not guilty and that any further statements would be made in court.

“It is not my practice to litigate my cases in the media,” she said. “We will say whatever we have to say in a court of law. We will not be making any further media statements.”
