Sussan Deyhim, Los Angeles performance artist/vocalist and composer presents her latest work, inspired by the life and poetry of Forugh Farrokhzad, one of Iran's most influential feminist poets and filmmakers of the 20th Century.

Deyhim weaves a series of nonlinear tableaux inspired by Forugh’s writings together with archival images and footage, including Forugh’s 1965 interview with Bernardo Bertolucci in Tehran. "The House is Black" is set to an original score by Deyhim and Golden Globe-winning composer Richard Horowitz.

Deyhim’s recent work includes vocals for the soundtrack of the Academy Award winning film "Argo," and her longtime collaboration with acclaimed visual artist Shirin Neshat.
