Railwaystories

In this video, I took a train for Mashhad from Tehran railway station. Mashhad is a city in Khorasan province in Iran. Almost everything about Mashhad relates to its role as the holiest city in Iran. Iran is a big country, with hundreds of kilometers between major cities. Trains are a good way to bridge those long distances. On long distances, trains are faster, more comfortable and safer. It was an early morning train for Mashhad from Tehran with two meals at your place included in the ticket price. I left the train at Kang Village. It is a small ancient village within 40 kilometers from Mashhad. Kang Village is also near Nishapur, known for its turquoise mines. It a beautiful hilltop village. I also spent some time in a Mosque there which I really enjoyed.
