It seems unlikely that the Saudis would attack a tanker full of oil near their coastal waters on the Red Sea and create an environmental problem. They are also in the middle of talks with the IR Regime mediated by the Pakistani Imran Khan. So look elsewhere.

This is a much smaller oil tanker which was on its way to Port Said through the Suez Canal and the Mediterranean Sea which begs the question, where was its destination, considering all the sanctions.

Also, were the Egyptians going to detain the tanker in Port Said under US order, or Trump was just going to look the other way. I suppose that the Regime was testing Trump to see how he would react if it sends a tanker through the Suez Canal.

So somebody decided that the best course of action was to shoot a couple of 1-meter holes in the tanker and force it back home to the Persian Gulf, where it’s headed now.
