Jewish News Syndicate: U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pence and National Security Advisor John Bolton took a victory lap over the Trump administration’s pro-Israel accomplishments, as did Vice President Mike Pence, at the Christians United for Israel conference in Washington, D.C., on Monday.

Among the accomplishments cited by the Trump administration, include defunding U.S. assistance to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) in September 2018; the shuttering of the Palestine Liberation Organization mission in Washington, D.C., in October 2018; the United States leaving the U.N. Human Rights Council in June 2018; recognizing Jerusalem as the capital of the Jewish state in December 2017 and moving the U.S. embassy there from Tel Aviv in May 2018; withdrawing from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal in May 2018; recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights in March; and officially designating Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group in April.

“We are just getting started,” said Bolton regarding the administration’s maximum pressure campaign against Tehran, as it is Trump’s “goal is to get a new deal that would be negotiated in the best interests of the United States.”

The address by the two senior Trump administration officials came amid the backdrop of Iran announcing that it has surpassed the uranium-enrichment threshold set by the 2015 Iran nuclear deal, which the U.S. unilaterally pulled out of last year.

Bolton also discussed fighting against the International Criminal Court for its anti-Israel bias as well as its investigation into U.S. actions in Afghanistan. Bolton noted Trump’s warning in April that any attempt by the ICC to target “American, Israeli, or allied personnel will be met with a swift and vigorous response.”

Bolton excited the crowd by saying, “Imagine what we will accomplish in a second term.”

Meanwhile, Pompeo reiterated a crucial remark he made at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s annual Policy Conference: “Anti-Zionism is anti-Semitism.”

The CUFI conference concludes on Tuesday.
