Béatrice Huret whas a far-right activist from the Front national party. One day gives a lift to a migrant to the 'Jungle' in Calais and is moved by the state of deprivation and inhuman conditions the migrants live in.

She decides to go every week to the 'Jungle' and bring food and clothes for the migrants.

there she meets Mokhtar, a young Iranian migrant who has sewn his lips and is in hunger strike with other Iranian migrants in protest against their living conditions.

She says it's 'love at first sight' and decides to help Mokhtar to realise his dream; to reach the UK. She helps him to cross the Channel on a small boat. Two years on, her love-story goes on and she wrote a book about it.
