Indeed clueless, otherwise why would a nation on the verge of progress shoot itself in the nuts as Iranians did?

The Shah did have a vision for his country...to pull her out of the dark pit of ignornace...but...but...the clueless visonaries on the left and those with and without a turban had other plans.

E_C jaan, don't fret so much about shah. he is the one who shot himself on the nut by allowing all these religious centers open up all over the country. I forgot the exact numbers but when his father left throne the number of emaam zadehs or masjeds were in the hundreds and by the time his son left there were in 10's of thousands, the reason being he was a superstitious man thinking that hazrat e abaas had something to do with him surviving those assassination attempts. now, what kind of a visionary person thinks that way? he sure liked to see a modern, industrialized Iran but he was clueless on how to get there and the people who knew how to get there were too coward to stand up to him.

Actually, the number of emmazadehs in Iran now tops 33,000! Yes, that is right. All this after the glorious revolution, so let's not blame the dead, but the thieving theocracy.

So while we allow our heritage to waste away (such as Persepolis and numerous other gems from pre-esslamic era), we refurbish and build more of these cockroach nests.
