Arash Nabavi, a 38-year-old Baha'i resident of Isfahan, has been handed a severe sentence by the city's Revolutionary Court.

Branch 1 of the court, presided over by Mohammadreza Tavakoli, imposed a total of ten years imprisonment, fines, and additional penalties on Nabavi.

He was given five years in prison and a fine for "membership in groups to disrupt national security," five years imprisonment for "propaganda activities against Islamic law," and a two-year ban on online activities.

The court has ordered the seizure of several of his personal items, including electronic devices and Baha'i religious materials.

Nabavi was initially arrested on August 14, 2023, when officers searched his home and confiscated personal belongings.

He was released on bail after two months.
