TEL AVIV, Israel — The Israeli military on Thursday carried out its deadliest operation in the occupied West Bank in years, killing at least nine Palestinians including a 60-year-old woman, according to Palestinian health officials and reports.

It was the deadliest single Israeli operation in the West Bank since at least 2005, when the United Nations started recording casualties in the territory, according to a U.N. official, who spoke on condition of anonymity in order to refer to internal U.N.
