The Huntington News:
As classes have begun for the spring semester, one student in particular, Mohammad Shahab Dehghani Hossein Abadi, will be unable to attend. The 24-year-old economics major was detained and later deported from Boston Logan International Airport Monday, sparking outrage from Northeastern students and local activists.
“We showed up at Logan Airport [Monday] night as soon as we heard the news — about 10 or 15 of us went out there in solidarity,” said Dru Maxcy, a local activist and member of the Act Now to Stop War and End Racism Coalition, or ANSWER. “We don’t want any more war and we want to stop war and end racism.”
Abadi had returned to Iran to renew his student visa. Despite the fact that he had obtained an F1 student visa upon his return, he was still taken into custody and questioned by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, or CBP, according to his attorneys. Monday night, an emergency hearing was issued in order to allow Abadi to remain in the United States for two more days so that he would be able to attend a hearing Tuesday morning.
The hearing documentation asserts that Abadi was given a Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant Student Status from Northeastern, had completed all parts of the visa process, including extended background and security checks in which no criminal activity or threats were found, and was given his visa one week prior to the incident. Despite the call for the hearing the next day, CBP sent him to France that night.
Judge Richard Stearns, who was due to be the judge in Abadi’s trial, said no more could be done, as Abadi had already been removed from the country. He believed that there was nothing to reverse the course of action taken by CBP.
Northeastern explained in an article that they are working to obtain an explanation as to why Abadi was removed in opposition to the request for a hearing. Jigisha Patel, Northeastern’s chief advisor for International and Immigration Services and assistant general counsel said the school has been in contact with Customs and Border Patrol for answers, but they have not been responsive.
“We believe that a clear explanation is needed, especially because the deportation took place after a 48-hour extension was granted by a federal judge,” said University Spokesperson Renata Nyul in a statement to various news outlets.
The Northeastern community responded swiftly to the situation, with over 100 students and local activists showing up on Centennial Common Tuesday night to protest the deportation.
Kate Parks, a fourth-year marine biology major, organized and led the protest. “I thought someone should have an event, so I figured I would just do it,” Parks said. “It makes me feel sick and unspeakably angry. I think that it’s really important that Northeastern as a community speaks out against this and says, ‘This isn’t okay and this is a horrible, unjust, racist practice.’”
First-year students Amir Bagheri and Camron Nodoushani said Abadi’s situation hits home for them because they are Iranian. “It was very sad to hear that a fellow student got deported for no reason other than the fact that he’s Iranian,” said Bagheri, a data science major.

If this guy was a security threat, then how did he manage to get through the extensive background check and get a visa to come to the US? His F1 visa could have been revoked in advance or he could've been prevented from boarding the flight to Boston.
But he gets on the plane and comes to the US and there, some Immigration guy takes the matters into his own hands and after extensive questioning orders his deportation. And when a Federal judge orders a hearing the next day, they rush him to a flight to France to close the case.
This begs the question that if they had a solid case against him, why didn't they present it to the Federal judge and the court?
This is an unfortunate undermining of the due process of law in a law-abiding society. As I said before, Stephen Miller, Trump’s immigration henchman is one SS uniform short of reporting for duty at the Auschwitz.

If I was in any way or means, financialy or otherwise , associated with the terrorist regime of Iran, I'd avoid Baghdad and Boston's Logan airports at all costs!
Because depending on your level of seniority or involvement with Iran's terrorist regime, youd be either hell fired, roasted and deep fried (in that order) with your best buddy, or be kicked out on the first fligh back to Kar-Bo-Bala, with ample supply of too sari and ordang applied by the hard working US border agents!

This Girl who named as Shamila (Shaghayegh) Habibi and his partner were involved in Ahmadinejad gov. They obtained billions (in IR currency) loan and then they moved to US. I was not surprised to see her, protesting at Boston Airport.#DeportBasijis #DeportIRGovermentsChildren

Out of 20,000 students at NU about 100 of them protest Shahab Dehghani's deportation and it becomes major news. But millions of Iranians pour into the streets of more than 100 Iranian cities, thousands get massacred and the world stands by as if nothing has happened.
Amoo Ben, fantabulous news buddy! Just got a ticket to Trump's rally in New Hampshire in two weeks!!! Do you have any message you would like me to convey to our great president Trump? I understand Stephen Xerxes Miller will accompany the president too. Should I ask him to deport more good looking Basijis from Northeastern University?
protestors-for-hire. That who these people are. Pay them a few bucks , or pay their cell phone bills for them and you have got yourself a rally there partner. ANyone can go out there holding a "do not deport" sign.
Again for our less informed EYeranians, The process that one goes through to get their initial visa , in whatever category is completely different from what happens down at the airport. The CBP has full authority and has the last word on who gets to stay and for howlong.
Why can't you people get the fact that The CBP can make independent decisions and that there is not even a thing any judge can do about it??? The fact that to some people These agents are just some "immigration guys" displays their utter ignorance of the whole process and to have them play the advocate for the Iranian community...
That is the Ultimate disaster.
Ostaad ICW.
You are a lucky man.
If you got the opportunity to talk to the great man, give him my warmest regards on behalf of Iranian Americans of Los Angles and hoomeh (especialy those from the Huntington beach) and ask him to deport the following 4 Islamist terrorist supporters back to Iran, from Boston Logan, with connecting flights at Baghdad international airport!
Were you outraged? Because I wasn't. Every single day tens of thousands of people arrive legally in U.S by Planes, Ships, Trains , buses , automobiles an don foot and that translates to several million people a year and out of that, a tiny number are deported and short of any mistakes (Mistakes do happen we are all human after all ) there are generally good reasons for the deportations.
We all know what this is about and it has nothing to do with immigration and even deportation its using any means possible to attack Trump and his administration that’s all! It’s a leftist and liberals who were quiet during eight years of Obama (Apparently no one got deported during Obama’s term!) now all of a sudden awaken and feel sorry for Jojeh Hezbolahi that got deported go figure!
