More than half of UFO sightings reported in the 1950s and 1960s were not extra-terrestrials but top secret U-2 spy planes, a previously confidential CIA document has revealed.

In a tongue-in-cheek tweet, celebrating the most-read secret papers of 2014, the CIA admitted: “Reports of unusual activity in the '50s? It was us.”
