The South Africa Football Association (Safa) may have their work cut-out with the news that Carlos Queiroz is close to extending his contract with the Iranian Football Federation (IFF) until 2018.

Queiroz was one of the favourites to land the Bafana Bafana coaching job especially after he announced that he will vacate his post following Iran's failure to make it past the group stages in the recently ended Fifa World Cup.

According to Tehran Times, Queiroz will finalise his deal with the IFF on August 1, leaving the door open for the likes of Stephen Keshi and Shakes Mashaba who have also applied for the job.

"In a session held at the Iran Football Federation headquarters on Friday, two parties agreed to finalize the contract on August 1," reports Tehran Times...
