The following is my translation of a condolence message by the commander of the Basij paramilitary force of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi [1]. It is interesting to note that he firstly extend his condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and lastly to the mournful families.
Beginning of the message
“To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return" (Al-Baqarah-156) [2]
“He who emigrates (from his home) in the Cause of Allah, will find on earth many dwelling places and plenty to live by. And whosoever leaves his home as an emigrant unto Allah and His Messenger, and death overtakes him, his reward is then surely incumbent upon Allah. And Allah is Ever Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.” (An-Nisa’-100) [2]
I extend my condolences, for the unfortunate accident of the land of light’s heavenly ascension of 26 pilgrims, including students, two teachers, and the assistant director of Inspection of Sepah [3] of the provincial city of Boroujen of the Cheharmehal-va-Bakhtiyari Province, in the calamity of the bus overturn, to the dear Imam Khamenei, the noble people of the Islamic Iran, and the dear people of the province, especially to the mournful Basij families, and pray for god’s blessing for those dear ones.
There is no doubt that the heavenly spirit of these pilgrims, who for the attainment of knowledge from the presence of the magnificent martyrs pilgriming towards the sacred lands, are in martyrs’ heaven today, and according to preceding verse, the reward for these pilgrims is with almighty god.
The eminent god of believers, I pray for elevated ranking for these beloved ones, and patience and rewards for the survivors.

Thanks for the translation. It's truly tragic... not just the loss so many innocent lives, but the fact that thugs like Naqdi rule the country.
Thank you, MPD, for the translation. His speech has too much Koran, not enough the real content. Every time, there is a tragedy, they ask people to be patient. They asked people to be patient with the Azeri earthquake a couple of months ago, while they shut down the rescue operation very quickly. My interpretation of "more patience" means "shut up" and
"don't blame IRI for the highest traffic accident rate in the world"!
I was wondering what they will do to lower the traffic accident fatalities in Iran! I am sick and tired of hearing that it is more rewarding to be dead!
My question is does one put a positive because of liking the story or its content?
My understanding is that the "thumbs up" and the "thumbs down" could both be applied towards the writing or the story, that is to say, a well written bolg with nasty content could get a "thumbs down," which in that case it means the content was disliked (not the writing), or it might get a "thumbs up," which in that case it might mean that the writing was liked (not the content).
And, there are many permutations to think of

It is my understanding that this website works on the concept of Ah and Bah, meaning that you show your personal and immediate reaction to what you are seeing. In this case, I voted "thumbs down" to this blog which our very gifted MPD has translated. It has no reflection on MPD or his translation, but on Naqdi's words.
The reason I believe this is how things work is that I know that the "most popular" indicator for a feature is not its "thumbs up" only, but the total sum of its "thumbs up" and "thumbs down." In other words, in the site's view, a "thumbs down" not only does not take away anything, it adds to the feature's value.
I hope I have understood it right and that what I wrote makes sense to you!

We need one place to have our latest comments. Also, counting both thumbs down or up to make it to the top may make some folks to NOT vote at all!
Maybe another complex Calculus equation (like those used in the surveys :-) can be used for Top selection or a combination of Editor's choice, like votes, # of comments, etc.
In any event, the Top items are hidden anyway!
