There is no evidence otherwise they would have mentioned it before.
Who is 'they' ? ...

For what it's worth, Noam Chomsky is of the opinion that the IRI was the likely culprit in the Lockerbie bombing (this may be one instance in which our leftist Iranian brethren may wish to avoid citing Chomsky). Chomsky writes:
"It is difficult to avoid the thought that the destruction of Pan Am 103 over Lockerbie a few months later was Iranian retaliation, as stated explicitly by Iranian intelligence defector Abolhassem Mesbahi, also an aide to President Rafsanjani, "regarded as a credible and senior Iranian source in Germany and elsewhere," the Guardian reports. A 1991 U.S. intelligence document (National Security Agency), declassified in 1997, draws the same conclusion, alleging that Akbar Mohtashemi, a former Iranian interior minister, transferred $10 million "to bomb Pan Am 103 in retaliation for the U.S. shoot-down of the Iranian Airbus," referring to his connections with "the Al Abas and Abu Nidal terrorist groups." It is striking that despite the evidence and the clear motive, this is virtually the only act of terrorism not blamed on Iran. Rather, the U.S. and UK have charged two Libyan nationals with the crime."
As to Why NOW ?
Most probably because the Arabs are against the West's approachment with Iran and that breaking this story out NOW serves their geo political purposes.
But Justice is normally meant to be independent and free from political pressure and must continue with it's investigations based on such last minute revelations regarldess of whether they are politically motivated or not.
Otherwise there would be no purpous in having a judiciary system in the first place !
Beside the timing of this news which is a little odd, I would say the rulling roaches in Iran talk and mingle with all sort of terrorists organizations out there. But does that mean they are involved in every terrorist acitivty on the face of the earth? I don't think so. I think it has become some what a fashion or fad now and days to put Iran's name in every terroist activity on the face of the earth from Azarbijan to Zimbabveh (A to Z). few days a go they could not wait to tag the two poor Iranian souls who went down with Maleysian Airliner as a people responsible for this dissaperance. So let's wait and not jump to conclusion. Let wait and see for a concrete proof and evidence.
My Persian is not very good, but from what I gather in this piece, Mir Hossein Mousavi was aware of IR's aircraft hijacking operations, and the only complaint that he had about it--which he had expressed in a cofidential letter before his resignation--was that no one counsulted with him before the hijackings took place. Ahhh...poor baby....wah wah wah... Here's the excerpt:

Dear Amir 1973: Excellent observation. Here is the link to Chomsky:

Firedup jaan, thanks for the link. I guess this is one instance in which the IRI's West-residing Little Helpers may find Prof Chomsky not to be infallible :-)
we should never trust anybody who has had any leadership role in the islamic regime as a friend. But we should tacticaly support them, when and if any of their positions could weaken the islamist regime.
That is what I thought too BUT then it is low.
If they had good evidence they could show it a long time ago.
Yes they are a bunch of negative and terrorist minded people but that does NOT make IRI an able government. All they can do take hostages because it is easy.
