As for his story sadly its not that unique, thousands of Iranians have similar stories to tell. I guess in this case he was lucky that he came from  a very rich family and could bribe and buy the right people when needed, the priviledge that so many other victims of the regime never had.

He makes some good points, but seems to lack, and makes simplistic statements about the why: 'all groups joined khomeini and how little they knew'!!?? Really?

Was there not payments of $150M to Khomeini et al (Yazdi, Ghotbi...) long before masses were in the street? was 'listen to BBC' not an early slogan? was there not a prepared fortress (Neuf Le Chateau) with guards and 26 phone and fax lines? because obviously to go to Tehran from Najaf you have to go thru Paris and camp for a few months. The problem is the movie seems timed for current events and provides a lot of emotion and few historically accurate facts and context.
