IranWire: Mohammed Ali Amooee, a member of the military wing of Iran’s communist party, was tortured under both the shah and after the revolution. He tells of his ordeals, and also of the brief respite in the 1960s, when torture seemed a thing of the past. But soon after the revolution, the Islamic regime resorted to systematic torture to make people confess — and these confessions under duress continue to this day.
