Why kind of "results" are we considering? Why do you think the US particularly is looking for any results?
Sanctions against Burma and South Africa were in place for years.
@Firedup:
I would imagine the sanctions are in place for a specific objective (result) in mind, though exactly what those objectives are, I am not sure of.
@Amir:
Likewise, there has been many more examples of countries that they were under similar sanctions as Iran and it did not yield any results, a type of result that was stated officially. Iraq is a good example of that which resembles far more to Iran than Burma or South Africa.

"Iraq is a good example of that which resembles far more to Iran than Burma or South Africa."
If you say so.
bavafa: What are the objectives on Cuba's sanctions?
Cuba isn't under international sanctions. It's under a US embargo.
@Firedup,
I wish I knew, however my guess would be in Cuba's situation the objective would be regime change, and in Iran’s case would be regime submission.
@Amir,
I do say so J
Both nation have vast supply of oil, both regime were/are pro Palestinians, both systems dictatorial thus to keep the nation’s progress and advancement at bay, both country would be a good source for potential for war thus good for arm’s business. Shall we go on?

We can apply the same so-called "analysis" to Libya, no? So why not choose that example?
No problem with that example? And what was the result of that sanction? Did it cause the downfall of the regime or its behavior?
Mehrdad
Actually, yes. It did get Libya's regime to abandon its nuclear program. Of course, it took additional outside assistance to the regime's opponents to overthrow it.
And exactly how do you come to the conclusion that sanctions were the cause for Libya to abandoned its nuclear program?

"However, after the end of Cold war in 1991, Gaddafi sought to resolve its nuclear crises with the United States aiming to uplift the sanctions against Libya, finally agreeing to authorize to rollback Libya's weapons of mass destruction program on December 2003."
"Following the U.S. military response in the Afghanistan war theater, Gaddafi increasingly desired to normalize foreign relations with the United States, initially focusing on uplifting and termination of U.S. sanctions on Libya. On 19 December 2003, Gaddafi made a surprise announcement about his intentions to dismantle the Libya's WMDs program.[7] Following the announcement, Libya agreed to destruct all of its chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons stockpiles"

"Gaddafi's acceptance of responsibility for the destruction of Pan Am Flight 103 led to the suspension of UN sanctions in 1999, but it became clear that he would also have to end his pursuit of nuclear and chemical weapons before Washington would lift its sanctions"

"The burden of 30 years of economic sanctions had significantly limited oil exports and stagnated the Libyan
economy, helping to tilt the balance against pursuing WMD."
Brothers and sister:
I think that brother bavafa because of his membership of NIAC has been brainwashed by Trita khan into thinking that Ali Khamenei's satanic regime should be saved at any cost. But he is too shy to say it directly.
Seyed khan,
Didn't your brother Rajavi instructed its followers to leave the thinking to him and his followers are only to follow, blindly? Now if you want to think that I have been brainwashed by your brother Titra khan, that is your prerogative, one that I don't object to although Rajavi's very well may thing you don’t have such prerogative.
Also, as I told you in the past, my mother had only three sons, I know the other two very well and I know you ain’t one of them. I also know my dad was very faithful to her so I am pretty certain I am not your brother.
Good luck with your other brothers
