The answer is C) He is a hero to traitors!
In my opinion Snowden is a hero. He objected to what was goign on from the inside, according to the protocol of sending an email to his bosses, who told him to shut up and get back to work.
Thankfully he did not and now the world knows that not only is ALL communication subject to snooping, the best ews of all is that the terrorists know it too and so therefore, there is no point ot the snooping anymore becasue terrorists dont; use this. Proof? OBL used couriers not pocket drives, not email, and certainly not a cellphone.
Need more proof? Last week's rampage in Santa Barbara, although fully documented online and on YouTube, never seemed to raise an eyebrow at the NSA, supposedly chartered to protect Americans from a Terorist attack. Even a home grown one, in a BMW. Apparently the NSA system does not catch attacks like they claimed it does.
Finally, Snowden did not relaese any information that puts American spies in danger. As has been claimed by the NSA. The reuslt of Snowden's evidence, now suggetss that the NSa is rotten ot the core, and it is now highly likley that the entire purpose of the NSA spying is to keep tabs on internal US political opponents, or anyone that might threaten the mighty expensive industriual militayr complex that feeds the fine folks at the NSA, as they continue to delude themselves on the granduer and overvalue of their "mission", and the overstated integrity of their "service".
Allof this is far more expensive and unnecessary, than crafting a reasonbale, and fair and tough and juts foreign policy, and then making the world adhere to it or suffer the cost of isolation. Not war. Isolation. At the end of the day, the Arabs (and Iran) have to sell their oil much more than the world needs to buy it from them. That should be the only hammer in the toolbox.
I was totally impressed by Snowden's poise and dedication under the imense pressure he must be under.
"hero", "traitor"!!!!
When are you islamists gonna learn that there are different shades and colors other than black and white? When are you going to learn the basic language of logic? I mean, how many more years do you have to live in the west to at least get a hint of the culture and line of thinking which has created this western paradise which you are flocking to lin your tens of thousands???

To define "treason" one has to understand the meaning of "patriotism" ...
Is Snowdown a "patriot" ? ...
Well ... I guess that depends on one's point of view ...
Obama: Snowden Not a Patriot
Hero to democracy fans, traitor to dictatorship fans. I voted "hero."
Ah, yeah: hero to "democracy fans" (Vladimir Putin). Some people are just so insightful.
Neither hero, nor traitor. Simply, useful idiot.
To treat with Russians, you ought to know them first.
Well said, Rea:

I always get a kick out of Urban Dictionary :-)
Amir and Rea, Snowden is not in Russia by choice. He has said that he preferes asylum in a democratic country. But U.S. has pressured these countries to deny him asylum. And no, he can't just come back home for a fair trial because odds are that he will be tried in secret without meaningful legal defense and possibly executed.
And by "democratic country", do you mean China, Cuba, Venezuela or Ecuador? And what a bunch of nonsense about being "tried in secret" and "possibly executed". While you're at it, why not just claim that Snowden will be hung in public for being a "Mohareb" or "Mofsed fel Arz"? Oh wait, sorry for the confusion: that is the " reformist" regime whom certain elements advocate cutting a deal with.
Has the US even touched a hair on the head of his collaborator, Glenn Greenwald? Heck, he even appears on the Today Show. Some people have drunk a little too much of the Kool Aid.

"Holder went on to clarify that “the United States would not seek the death penalty even if Mr. Snowden were charged with additional death penalty-eligible crimes.” What death penalty charges does Holder suggest Snowden's actions may be eligible for? Your can participate meaningfully in this debate if you become familiar with some basics about the laws relevant to the Snowden case.
To help you out with some elementary facts:
1. Eric Holder is the current attorney general of the United States.
2. The Espionage Act of 1917 states, "...The death penalty is available only upon a finding that the offense resulted in the death of a covert agent or directly concerns nuclear weapons or other particularly sensitive types of information."
Ari Siletz,
You claimed "he will be tried in secret without meaningful legal defense and possibly executed". To help you out with some elementary facts, the link you provided says nothing of the kind. In fact, it explicitly falsifies one of your claims, namely: "Holder went on to clarify that “the United States would not seek the death penalty even if Mr. Snowden were charged with additional death penalty-eligible crimes".
Anything else you want to fabricate out of thin air while you're at it? You were saying?
Regards.
For every body's information, the Danish parliament voted recently against a bill offering Snowden asylum in Denmark. The British government has Snowden blacklisted as well. Both these countries are on the other hand safe havens for Chechen "freedom fighters."
