A "nuke deal" leading to removal of sanctions affecting Iran's ordinary business class may accelerate IRI downfall or encourage push for radical changes in policy. Access to wealth is access to power.
Yeah, right. So the IRI is pursuing a deal that will supposedly "accelerate" its own downfall. Sure, that makes sense.
Does that deal come with a bridge?
Dear Amir1973: The Key words are "ordinary business class". If you don't know by now that there are hardly any ordinary business classes in Iran (re: without being dependent on military mafia or the oil mafia) then you haven't been paying attention. The system is systematically set up to centralize the economic power in the hands of Sepah (IRGC); even the bazar which was independent during the Shah, is now dependent on the IRGC.
At any rate, the suggested trickle down economics or neoliberal economics have never ended up in reforming anything; they most often lead to more monopolization of economic and political power. We see this everyday here in the United States.
They will find another bogus pseudo nationalist cause or foreign threat like the actions of an imbecilic Bush to prolong the life of the regime. The Bazaar has not been replaced by IRGC. It is suffering because of the higher stake economic plunder. The IR elite are controlling the much bigger lucrative monopolies. They used the nuke excuse to wrestle the control of oil marketing and wrestke the control of the oil industry away from NIOC. The unequinimity of wealth distribution in the West is for different reasons.
Dear Firedup, I have a second cousin who had a pretty successful business in Iran (a factory involved in manufacturing copper wires, including exports to Europe and Asia). In order to make his business viable, he took on a partner who was connected to some regime people. This was 10 years ago, and it may very well be worse now. These parasites have infiltrated and taken over the vast majority of Iran's economy. The notion of "targeted" sanctions that don't impact the economy is as much of a joke as the "trickle down" theory of 'reforming' the IRI.
Dear Amir: One of my best friends from middle school also had a successful iron factroy where they made ornate iron fences. The company went belly up 3 years ago because the economic mafia started to monopolize the import/export of iron. Those who are well-connected to the regime and have done lobbying work are salivating for a lucrative sanction-busting payday ergo their rosy perdiction.
I partially agree with Ari. Access to wealth is access to power.
Yeah, lifting existing sanctions would give average Iranians (rather than regime parasites) "access to wealth" and hence "access to power". This then will lead to "reform" of the IRI. Got it. Good to know.
Access to wealth is access to power, but in this case since all wealth is controlled and looted by Islamists I don't see any of it trickeling down to the masses. The key to success of IRI is to keep Iranians half starved as the trajic picture above clearly shows it.
These folks are much more fined tune with the shieky Iranian psychee than shah, mossadegh, bakhtiar all wrapped in one!

Hats off to the Supreme Leader
The sooner IRI goes the sooner Iranian people will begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel! IRI must be destroyed in its entirity! No nuke deal with IRI, no deal of any form or shape or kind with the criminal IRI! Do you get it? No deals!
