We all know Mr. Javid as an excellent journalist, editor and translator with over 30 years of experience under his belt but how do you rank him as a businessman?

A change of regime won't change the fortune of Iranians. This rotten bunch will just be replaced by another rotten bunch because the new leaders will be elected (selected, imposed, etc.) from among a rotten elite. What is needed for Iranians is a long term plan to educate the masses in respecting others and different ideas. This education should be done within the "chahar divari" of people's homes and by parents.
Despite the regime's effrots, I see better tendencies among the Iranian youth (inside Iran) towards this objective. As for us "lengesh kon" of the Farang, there is little hope. We are still the "marg bar <fill in the blank>" bunch, intolerant, racist, and mostly out of touch with the men and women on the streets of Tehran.
One of the common traits of the West-residing supporters of the IRI is their tendency to equate the most violent and repressive regime in Iran's recent history with the opponents of that regime. Other tendencies are constantly to attack anti-IRI individuals with terms like "lengesh kon", etc and to oppose regime change on the grounds that other regimes would be just as bad (if not worse) than the Number One executioner and rapist of Iranian men, women, and children.
Bla bla West residing, bla bla bla ...supporters of the IRI, bla bla bla.... You must have made a shortcut key for that arajeef.
By the way, how successfull have you been in the past 34 years regarding opposition to the IRI? Judging by the amount of influence you and the like minded have had on the affairs of Iran and its future in the past 34 years, I guess we only have to wait another 200 years to have any results. Well, good luck, noone is stopping you. Meanwhile, I'll teach my children the values necessary for becoming a better person since it is the sum of such people that make up the future generation. You go your way and I'll go mine. But one thing I am certain of. Yes I am Western residing allright and I recognize that fact and that is exactly therefore I can not allow myself to shout "lengesh kon" from the comfort of Farang.
Clearly, I hit a nerve: the truth hurts. Now, run along, since you have rendered your Mollah Regime propa-GAND-a services for today. Hala en ghadr herss nakhor, aziz '-)
I personally respect the choice of the people of Iran--whatever that may be. I may disagree with it, but hey, I don't live there, so...
I do agree with the part of MM's comment about our culture of dictator-"parvari." We really don't have the democratic infrastructure, culture, and institutions to allow for the growth of a healthy, democratic system. We came very close during Shah's reign. There were multiple, well organized, well funded oppostition groups inside Iran. They operated with relative impunity, with some occasional minor and ineffective harassment by Shah's security services (which should have not happened). But for the most parts they got their message across, recruited new members and carried on with their activities with their leaders inside Iran. The only thing that they didn't have was a sign above their door--which in my opinion they should have been allowed to have. But had Iranians not completely imploded and committed national collective suicide, the system would have reformed after Shah's death. It was inevitable. But Iranians couldn't wait to put Imam-e-Zaman's representative on the throne, and the result was the complete destruction of all hopes of democratic institutions under the new regime. So now...enjoy!
There's no oppositon, we all know that. Iranians like to follow and there's no one to follow now!
If the islamist take over was the true work of people to bring about backwardness as the mainstream means to rule over them, then they got what they wanted. The few North Tehranis will just have to suffer, or leave Iran as they have for the past 34 years.
How old are you Amir? I just want to make sure I am not wasting my time on a juvenile.
If you are mature enough, then you'll notice that I asked you a question, so if you disapprove of my "propaganda" here you have your chance of presenting yours. If you have nothing of substance then act like a grown up and zip it. Not for my sake but to keep an iota of respect for yourself.
Baba jaan, this isn't the IRI, where you and your ilk can act like a bunch of rabid dogs and demand answers to your asinine "questions". You think this is an interrogation? And to continue your rabid ways, you tell others to "zip it". You and your filthy regime are truly shameless, isn't it so? I would try to teach you some manners, but I might as well try to teach a donkey about Beethoven.
Mouth diarrhea it is then.
May I beg that in the spirit of our new year we try to be a little more respectful of each other? As for the survey, I opted for #2 myself, not that it is a perfect option but choice #1 will result in immediate elimination of the person and choice #3 will end in marginalisation of the activist as evident in case of Ebaadi, Kaar, Abdi, Nafisi and scores of others. I would like to know your thoughts on my "rational"
Like I said, a rabid dog with no manners, no class, no education, no shame -- and a welfare cheat and parasite living off the Danish people to boot. Cheers, now '-)
Hey Amiro, please flush out after your posts to prevent the stink.
Dear Kamal, with all due respect, as some here in the site might have also noticed, I will no longer refrain from personal insults if I first become a target of one. My first comment here was directly related to the subject. Regards, MM.
course of action: nothing! Has it occured to any one maybe , just may be the despotic, brtual , backward IRI is the best that Iranians can come up with and Pahlavi dynasty was just an anamoly and like any anamoly once it's faded away things went bank to its natural order.
MRX, you may have a point. What came before the Pahlavis (i.e. the Qajars) and what came after (i.e. the terrorist Mollah Regime) are 1000 times worse, though I'm not sure some people are honest enough to admit it.
First of all: happy Norooz everyone!
Second, Dont mean to pick on the poster of this survey, but as usual, the "choices" of answers in this so called "survey" are limited by the posters political preferences. Quite a bit like the Islamist regime's "elections" :)
p.s. The foul mouth resident west residing joojeh cyber lebaas shakhsi here should wash his filthy mouth with the aftaabeh in his/her avator prior to yapping here again :)
hamal jaan, it would take a 45 gallon drum of industrial grade hydrochloric acid to wash out the stinky, polluted mouth and mind of our Denmark-residing joojeh basiji.
Dear Hamal, in defence of myself, I used to add "something else" option to my surveys and ask people to explain it so that we would all learn something but to my disappointment, nobody bothered to participate. If you wish to add any other option to this survey I will be at your service. And I think I should make it my signature: I'm no Islamist, no shahi, no commie.Cheers.
norouz mobarak
choice one is for idiots
choice three is for cowards
choice two is for wise people
by the way i am leaving in iran, and the chance that i am a part of IRI regime is there, but those who think by giving "شعار" radical this regime will change has more chance to be a part of basiji organization.
@parviz41: do you mean this regime will "reform" with choice two?? Do you really believe this regime can be "reformed"??
dear amir,
do u think people should take machine gun and go to street and fight? outcome is mojahedin, if they come to power we all will miss IRI!
do u think invasion by USA will work, just look at Iraq. Over there there are three major players, Arab sonnies, Arab shia and kurds.
how many groups do we have; persian turks, kurds, arabs and so on. We will go to another chaos again.
I don't believe on any sort of reform in Iran. Come here I will take you to parts of Iran you will say it is not Iran as you think. In yasuj there are people who should steal to prove they are man. The hatrate between different villages and towns in the boarder of caspian sea is famouse and unbelivable.
All people hates we tehranies and consider us as son of the b....
I have no faith in short term solution, long term maybe. Take the most trust worthy person in the world and appoint him as leader, shah, president or any other position you think is appropriate.
We will corrupt him in less than 3 years.
even don't think this situation it comes from IRI, just go through few books written by european during 18-19 centuries about us, we are exactly the same as our ancesstors 200 years ago.
