I don't think most Americans think like that. But most white trailer trash rednecks believe that. And they mostly live in rural red states where there are not many immigrants.
A friend of mine once said, there's East Coast and there's West Coast and there's a lot of space in-between.
Most, but not all of his support base probably think that way. In any case whether right or wrong, the president of United States shouldn't talk like that even though he may think it. The world looks up to the US for leadership and when the "leader" speaks this way, what do you expect from the trailer trash sitting in his double-wide sipping Bud Light?
