I just finished reading Herodotus's "History of the Persian Wars" and, indeed, the portrayal of Cyrus is quite favorable. In Josephus' "Antiquities of the Jews", he is also depicted in a very sympathetic light....Sadjadpour and I have a mutual friend, and I have met him a few times. He is very nice and down-to-earth.
