If not in a few weeks perhaps in a few years, the same people who demanded Morsi stepped down will accuse CIA of masterminding the coup. So Egyptians will be united again!

Unfortunately, for the West a democratically elected government is only legitimate and supported as long as it meets the West purpose and approval.  We have witness this repeatedly in the last decade or so.

The military had to intervene. Those who have preferred the military to turn into a suppressive apparatus of dictatorial Mr. Morsi only reveal their self-serving agenda and in no way they are interested in democracy.
