The Hill:

Belgian authorities arrested a man in Brussels suspected of planning an attack on the U.S. embassy in the capital, Reuters reported.

The man, identified by his initials M.G., was arrested on Saturday and charged with “an attempted attack in a terrorist context and preparing a terrorist offense.”

He denies accusations, the prosecutors said in a statement obtained by Reuters.

Prosecutors reportedly said they had “converging indications” that led them to believe the man was plotting an attack.

Belgian state broadcaster RTBF says the man has been under police surveillance for some time.

The outlet claims he was recently spotted acting suspiciously near the embassy.
