The Hill:
Key Republican senators emerged from a briefing with CIA Director Gina Haspel blaming Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for the death of U.S.-based journalist Jamal Khashoggi and promising further action.
“There’s not a smoking gun, there’s a smoking saw,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) said, referencing Trump administration comments that there is no “smoking gun” linking the crown prince to the order to kill Khashoggi.
"He murdered him. ...No question in my mind," retiring Sen. Bob Corker (R-Tenn.) said of the Saudi crown prince. "I had almost no question before, I have no question whatsoever now."
Haspel was briefing senators who lead national security committees roughly a week after Defense Secretary James Mattis and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo similarly failed to stall Senate action with a briefing on U.S.-Saudi relations and the Yemen civil war.
Senators were unconvinced by the administration's arguments and angry at Haspel’s absence last week. They followed last week’s briefing by easily advancing a resolution to end U.S. military support for the Saudis in Yemen.

Never mind what these senators say. They are on lease for a term or more.
Why isn’t the American public informed of what really happened? It’s their tax dollars that feed these senators.
If the US Senators are "on lease" for a 6-yr. term, Donnie Fiasco is "on lease" for maybe 2 more years, given what Robert Mueller decides. And the next 2 years will also be very painful for him since the Dems will be in charge of the Congress.
Sit back and enjoy the show!
Trump has been all talk and little action. I’d like to see Vice President Mike Pence taking over. That would be very exciting.
I'm with you on that. Let's put TЯump and his family in orange jumpsuit and in the federal penitentiary for good. He's doing too much damage to the fabric of this country.
And he's not doing jack shit about the Islamic Republic.
That was meant as a joke. By the way. Mueller seems to have his own legal issues.
I forgot that you get your news from Fox, where black is white and day is night! It's amazing that we come from the same part of the world and have zero in common. What have they done to you in Japan, Gaijin?
O, what a tangled web we weave when first we practise to deceive!
Faramarz Jaan,
You and I certainly couldn’t have much in common. Whereas you hail from a cosmopolitan city, I come from a small town.
I’m not sure how much time you spent in Japan, but I see it as one of the least inspiring places in the world. It can be hellishly boring, if you don’t know how to deal with it.
Once a young Hawaiian guy asked me why the Japanese allowed so many jerks into their country. And I responded by asking why else he thought we ended up here. And then added perhaps the Japanese wanted to feel better about themselves.
