Apart from the lucrative arms trade and Trump’s own personal enrichment from years of doing property business with the House of Saud, the other vital interest for the US is its reliance on the Saudis for the coming war with Iran. Trump said so himself when he tried to excuse not imposing sanctions on Saudi Arabia by saying the country was “an important counter to Iran”.

We should not be talking so much about Khashoggi's murder because Trump may get distracted and not do the regime change in Iran!

So, Trump is not “crazy,” after all, and knows exactlywhat he is doing.

Let’s not forget Trump’s “dumb” son-in-law, Jarred Kushner, who has played a big role in making deals with the Saudis.

The Obama administration spent eight years quietly selling a lot of arms to Saudi Arabia: When President Obama left office, for example, the United States still had $100 billion in the foreign military salespipeline with Saudi Arabia and, in 2011, had inked what was previously the largest arms sale in U.S. history with the Kingdom—a $29 billion deal to sell F-15s to the Saudis.
