Since the 1979 revolution, millions of Iranians have been forced to leave their ancient land and seek freedom elsewhere. More than a million Iranians live in the United States, with millions more in Canada, Europe, Australia, and Asia. Wherever they reside, Iranians have prospered in business, academia, and politics. But they have not forgotten the daily struggles of their family, friends, and compatriots under the Islamic Republic.
New Iran is a nonprofit and nonpartisan 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the objective research and analysis of Iran. New Iran's chief goal is to educate U.S. policymakers, the media, and the general public about the historic changes underway in Iran and help formulate policies that will create everlasting peace between Iranians and the global community.
The Iran of today faces immense challenges, from severe water shortages to massive human rights abuses and increasing unemployment and poverty. But Iranians have proven capable of overcoming these challenges in the past and thriving despite setbacks. New Iran’s mission is to examine and explain the Iran of today while advocating for and shaping a new and better Iran of the future.
