This is a much bigger slap than sanctions, or at least that's how Iran perceives it. Sanctions hurt their economy; this one belittles their piddly little ego. They can live on empty stomachs (or rather their people) but prefer not to see this one.

"Oppositon Leader". Why can't Iranians have secular opposition? Why does oppositon have to be the fruit from the same rotten tree of religion?
