Ironically, though not surprising, the new defense/war bill in congress supported by nearly all Republicans recognizes and increases spending for the effect of global warming in the arctic and its impact to conduct war.

MRX- The difference is the rate at which it is happening. Things that would take thousands of years are happening in less than a hundred years. The short time period deprives the species to adapt, or for other species to thrive and take the pleace of the ones that go instinct. That's the issue.

Fun fact: by 2050 we will have more plastic in our oceans than fish.

Would it make you feel better if instead of say a hundreds of  year say it takes ten thousand years?   I have no feelings about it one way or another. bottom line nature always prevails!  

This whole global warming business is all about money, meaning some few smart and influential people will be making ton  of money fleecing avergae joe out there who fears  life will be coming to an end any minute, and the worst part all the money feelced wouldn't do anything for the enviroment!

Let's not be so negative! As the ice melts and big chunks of the Antarctica breaks away, we have fresh and brand new real estate on both poles where we can build new condominiums, golf courses and shopping malls!
