The last time I checked the news was when I saw the giant headline on the BBC site annoucing the result of the referrendun in favor of Britain's exit from the European Union. The headline was bigger than when William and Kate had their kid.

There's still smoke coming out of my ears. I don't know if I will ever recover.

For years I have been only reading headlines. Maybe a few sentences of particlar articles here and there. It's rare for me to read anything online to the end. So my attention to news has been reduced to occasional daily glances at the BBC site and The Guardian. But even a glance; reading headlines and leads can leave quite an impact, especially if I'm familiar with the topic and its progression.

News is not doing me much good. It's not enriching my life. I think I'll be fine without it.
