I just felt like sharing a couple of fun facts about mandatory hejab with you folks. There are only two countries that have mandatory hejab rules in the world: Saudi Arabia and Iran. Let’s take a quick peek at how those laws came about in each country.

First, Saudi Arabia: hejab, both mandatory and traditionally, has been a part of the Arabian Bedouin culture for thousands of years. After all, that country is the birthplace of Islam. So, no surprise that hejab is mandatory there.

Next, Iran: up until 36 years ago, hejab was not mandatory. Women dressed as they wished. But somehow, inexplicably, they, along with their husbands, brothers, fathers, and sons, poured onto the streets and brought about a regime that made wearing the hejab mandatory for them. So, in essence, they voluntarily imposed mandatory hejab upon themselves. Why did they do it? No one is really sure. But this IQ chart could be illustrative of the reason(s) why they did it.

PS- You know how Iranians always say that Afghanis are backwards? You also know how Iranian women must wear a compulsory hejab, cannot be singers, and cannot attend sports events? Well, check out this video. Who’s backward now?
