Aitzaz Hasan a 15 year old Pakistani boy has become a national hero after giving his life tackling a suicide bomber targeting his school. Aitzaz & his friends spotted a man wearing suicide vest. Against the advise of his friends he decided to confront and capture the bomber and threw himself on top of the bomber outside the main gates of his school. The device exploded and Aitzaz died later in hospital. Two others were injured.
The incident took place on Monday in Ibrahimzai, Hangu, in north-western Pakistan. There were almost 2,000 students in attendance at the time of the attack.
According to Police officials, Aitzaz intercepted the bomber some 150 meters (490 feet) away from the main gate of the school.
Since Monday tributes have been pouring in for this unbelievably brave teenager.
Malala Yousafzai and now Aitzaz Hasan are proving to the Pakistanis, if not the world, that one could become agent of change instead of waiting for the change and one needs no uniform to fight dark forces.
Lets hope that Malala Yousafzai and Aitzaz Hasan are signs of long overdue awakening in upcoming Pakistani generation who must be sick & tired of incompetent & corrupt political system, ignorance, Taliban insurgency, deep rooted corruptions, stagnant economy, poverty & ... and spires for change and a better future. An enormous task in a country that has been one of the cancerous spots of the world, but too much is at stake and risk is too great for the Pakistani youths and progressives to give up.
