In a room packed with NIAC board members, Trita took to the podium. They were all anxiously waiting, Jamal Abdi, Mar’ashi, Maz Jobrani, Hooman Majd, etc.

“My dear friends and colleagues, you’ve all seen my resignation letter and the explanation, so I won’t belabor the point. Instead, I will focus on the future, NIAC’s and mine.”

“I had a long conversation with Zarif who has just finished his European trip. The reception by the EU appears to be luke warm at best and the big companies in Europe are not going to risk their business dealings with the US and will not invest in Iran. So they are stuck with the 2nd-tier companies. Zarif was not even invited to the Royal Wedding this weekend! So things are pretty bad for the Reformers”

“The action will most likely shift to Russia and China; military contracts to Russia, commercial ones to China. Both Putin and Xi are making a strong pitch for Soleimani. Khamenei is thinking about it. Soleimani has met with Moqtada and will ship the oil through Basra. He also met with Erdogan and General Flynn and will send gas through Turkey. They will institute an Oil-for-Goods program with Japan, India and S. Korea who will pay for the oil with Toyota, Toshiba and Samsung instead of dollars. Nasrollah and Assad will be getting goods instead of cash. Nasrollah will open a store chain in Lebanon, Hossein.Mart where he will convert the goods into cash. It’s all set. The Reform Movement in Iran is finished.”

“Jamal and Maz, you guys always wanted to make NIAC a true lobby for the Iranian-Americans. So here’s your chance to make a course correction. With no war in sight we are losing members. Code Pink was complaining that people are now more interested in #MeToo, sexual harassment, porn stars and hush money than stopping wars. We need to change. Even Bolton’s mustache is no longer scary. It looks like a cat’s whiskers!”

“So Trita, what are you going to do now? Retire and move back to Sweden?”

“Not at all. Pickering and I are going to start North Korean-American Council (NKAC). We will lobby on behalf of Kim Jong Un. We will polish his image as a true Reformer, even better than Khatami. None of that Supreme Leader stuff! With the nuclear deal with Trump on the horizon, sanctions will be lifted and billions of dollars of investment from S. Korea will be pouring in. Pickering has already lined up Boeing and Airbus. The US Congress is all for it and I don’t have to worry about BiBi/MEK/AIPAC/NeoCon crap. It’s going to be sweet. I am also adding Dennis Rodman to our management team. I am so excited!”

“Oh, speaking of Sweden, Pompeo just called me this morning and was wondering if I knew anyone at the Nobel Peace Prize Committee. He wanted to see if the Committee can take away Obama’s 2009 Peace Prize and give it to Trump! I promised that I will look into it. I just can’t wait to visit the White House again!”
