To the BBC Director of News and Current Affairs,

With the recent rise of the Iranian people and their protests against the ruling regime in the country, the cyberspace is filled with reports, pictures and videos by people in gatherings and demonstrations and posted on social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, and Telegram. Despite such a rich volume of visual information on the Internet, it is seen that the BBC News lacks content and analysis to fit that volume of information available on the current critical situation in Iran. For those Iranians who remember that thirty-nine years ago, when the Islamic Revolution of Iran was taking place, and despite the lack of news sources at that time, the BBC reported in every news broadcast a detailed report of the anti-royalist movement to its British viewers and listeners. This imbalance and disproportionality to today's situation in Iran is a cause for surprise and disappointment.

Therefore, we the signatories of this petition are requesting that the BBC News bulletins  raise the voice of the Iranian protesters to be heard and seen by the British public and the international viewers and listeners and do not allow political considerations to interfere with the neutrality of news reporting that is clearly reflected in the BBC Charter.

ریاست محترم اخبار بی‌بی‌‌سی٬

با اوج گرفتن تظاهرات اخیر مردم ایران بر علیه رژیم حاکم در آن کشور٬ فضای مجازی پر شده است از گزارشاتی که بوسیله مردم حاضر در اجتماعات ضبط شده و در پایگاه های اینترنتی نظیر فیسبوک، یوتیوب، تلگرام و غیره نصب میشود. علیرغم چنین فضای غنیی از اطلاعات تصویری در اینترنت٬ مشاهده میشود که اخبار بی‌بی‌سی فاقد محتوا و تحلیلهای لازم و متناسب با حجم اطلاعات موجود درباره وضعیت بحرانی ایران می‌باشد. برای ایرانیانی که بیاد دارند که سی و نه سال پیش در زمانیکه انقلاب اسلامی ایران در حال وقوع بود و با وجود کمبود منابع خبر رسانی در آنزمان بی‌بی‌سی در هر پخش خبری گزارشات مفصلی از جنبش ضد سلطنتی به ببیندگان انگلیسی خود میداد. این عدم تعادل و تناسب نسبت به وضعیت امروز موجب تعجب و ناامیدیست.

بدینوسیله ما امضا کنندگان تقاضا داریم که بخش های خبری بی‌بی‌سی صدای اعتراض ایرانیان را به سمع و رویت ملت انگلیس و جهانیان رسانده و اجازه ندهند ملاحظات سیاسی در وظایف بیطرفانه خبررسانی که در منشور بی‌بی‌سی نیز منعکس شده است خدشه‌ای بوجود آورد.
