Dear Kamal, some of your posts were deleted ony because you posted too many in a single day. If you post more than 2 or 3 items it will take away space from others who also wish their posts to be seen. Also, if you prefer posting in English, please do so in the English section.
Admin jaan - if that's the case, why does Ghormeh Sabzi get to post 4 videos at a time (like now) and knock off everyone else's posts (including one of mine) of the page one shot?!!!
Dear admin, earlier today I saw a few exchanges under my post between 2 members of this site that are now deleted. As far as I could tell the 2 members had a previous history of going at each other and it was for the most part although argumentative in nature but pretty harmless and even a bit entertaining. I did not see any insults from either party and was surprised to see their comments deleted. As a longtime member of this and your previous site it concerns me that the level of tolerance in listening to opposite views has gone way down and did not even see a reply to a legitimate question brought up by Anonymous Observer. I don’t know either party and my guess is that the past history played a part in your decision by not replying back but I think ignoring the issue will only have a compounding effect that will show its ugly head somewhere else down the road. Truly yours, Kamal
Kamal - I deleted my own posts. The point of my original post, which still remains unanswered, is the consistency of application of the rules. JJ cannot delete your posts based on an excuse of posting to many things, while he on the same day allows another user [probably a family member] to post 4 videos within an hour. We all make contributions to the site, and everyone should be treated equally. As you noted, my comment is still unanswered. All I got instead was a few dislikes. If JJ wants to make this into a family site, then so be it. That's his choice. But when he solicits contributions from others, he should apply the rules consistently. Honestly, I've been a long time contributor to JJ's sites, both the ld IC and his new site. My posts in the old IC consistently generated thousands of hits. But this whole thing is leaving a bad taste in my mouth.
Dear mjavid, Thank you for taking the time and explain your position. Perhaps AO deleted his/her own comments as well and I’m reading too much in to a simple exchange. Since I’m not aware of the history between you 2 it was a bit entertaining for me particularly due to not seeing any foul language but I see your point as well. As for GS, I’m a great fan myself but have not had a chance to watch her clips since the Iranian.com days. It is a pleasure to have her on this site. She really goes out of her way to find real treasures. Rest assured that I did not take any offence by your comment Since I’m a music lover myself I’ll do my best to play some clips that are less heard by general public and entertaining as well but being in my mid 50’s my taste will probably be more tailored for the older audience. Cheers.
Dear Anonymous Observer, My thanks to you as well. Your point is well taken and my apologies to Jahanshah for thinking that he had something to do with deleting your comments. Let us all hope that we soon hear back from Jahanshah regarding your concerns. Cheers.
Bad taste in your mouth? then move on dear... Maybe you can get 10000000 hits somewhere else.
I'm really surprised you are a vegan, because you are so insensitive to everything else. I don't feel any kindness in you.
This in response to your reply earlier: "Kamal - I deleted my own posts. The point of my original post, which still remains unanswered, is the consistency of application of the rules. Thanks Kamal. Perhaps we can see if JJ responds to the inquiry. I will ignore the background noise and the disturbed family members who, as you can see above, are trying to pick a fight along with their family member "dislike" support group. Let's just focus on the issue that you raised to see if we hear a response. Thanks again for your comment and response.
What bothers me most about you AO is and it also breaks my heart that you linger here on iroon and did on iranian.com without much apparent love for the country of IRAN. Your contributions are always critical and contemptuous of Iran and Iranians.
I'm sorry mjavid. I understand that for some unkonwn reason, you have been trying to pick a fight with me...perhaps to take out some frustrartion in your life...or to fill a void, but as I said above, I'm not interested in feeding your needs, plus this blog is about something else, which you, very strangely, have been doing your best to sabotage. This will be my last communication with you. You're just too violent for my taste. As Kamal also noted, The simple issue that I raised before you injected yourself in here with accusations and violent behavior has not been answered. Hopefully, we will hear a response. Have a wonderful life and good luck with the group dislikes. :-)
come on guys, you are taking this way too serious. Let’s enjoy life. Take it from me, life it is too short to be bitter about such things. You will never know what tomorrow will bring so let’s enjoy today. I’m going to post a music clip in Farsi section and would like to hear your honest opinion. It is an old song by Simin Ghadiri called “yek parandeh” Peace.
Moment... Moment. I remember "yek parandeh" by Simin Ghadiri. In fact, I bought her cassette tape waaaaaaay back from 24 Esfand Square on a day the university became "shloogh poloogh" and I escaped out of the campus..
I liked Simin Ghadiri's style and songs. Does anyone know what happened to her? Where is she? What does she do?
Thanks Kamal. Seriously, I had no intention of getting into a back and forth. All I did was ask a legitimate question...and the rest is history. In any event, thanks for the music. It's quit a bit before my time, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Since you're a fan of good music, perhaps you will like this piece of music, which is by a German-Iranian composer, Ramin Djawadi. His mix of Eastern elements into the piece is just remarkable.

AO jan, you hit too many nerves with your free and honest contributions. This exchange reminds me of our friend VPK. Where are also Darius Kadivar, Masoud Kazemzadeh and other great regular contributors, who are conspicuous by their absence? They are missed.
By the way I did not mean mjavid is VPK! It reminds me of exchanges you had with VPK with regards to what is love of ones country and how to express it. I just thought I'd clarify to person(s) who find my observation offensive.
Thanks Shepesh jaan. That's exactly what this exhange reminded me of, the "VPK days." That guy was just throughly obsessed. Remember how he would spam my posts with comments? He wrote how many blogs, 3 or 4 (?) about me. He would email people about me. And then he demanded that I be blocked or he would leave, which he did. But at least VPK was not armed with a whole army of family members with "dislike" buttons. I see you have become a victim of this "dislike" attack. Poor Kamal became a victim of the attacks also--just for being cordial to me. But I guess the "dislikes," the personal attacks and the online violence--in response to a mere polite observation-- is just the way this person shows her "love" and "kindness."
But look, this ain't my first rodeo. And on this thread, I simply made a polite observation. But I guess you don't get on the wrong side of the "family" here.
The way Western cultures have created a civil society is by harsh and stnging self criticism and self examination. For us, anything beyond subtle, cryptic and poetic expression of our problems is considered "Iran hating," and that my dear Shepesh, is the reason why our homeland has been ruled by the only theocracy on this planet for the past 34 years.
Thanks for dropping by and for your comments. Be good.
AO jan, just think of the red DISLIKEs a lashes taken in exchange for free expression. I also like VPK, I hope he comes back but not to hassle you ofcourse. I am sure JJ also appreciates all your great blogs and contributions.
Good comparison. I actually didn't have anything against VPK--and still don't, and that was the most puzzling aspect of this whole thing. And as I have said before, I like to see him contribute again. I hardly, if ever, commented on any of his posts--certainly not after he started acting strange--and most of the times didn't even respond to him when he was commenting on my posts.
And as far as JJ, I really like him despite some of his shortcomings. He was the one who introduced me, and a lot of other Iranians, to blogging, and provided us with a forum to do so.
Thanks. :-)
I don't necessarily align with some of AO's viewpoints, but overall, I find his/her blogs interesting. He/she has an energetic presence.
I felt compelled to say this, because I believe the site benefits from diversity of thought.
Thanks Bambi.
On another note--I was actually montintoring this thread to kind of confirm a suspicion that I had, and my suspecion was just confirmed. Three "dislikes" of my comments above happened in less than a minute, as if someone is logging in under various usernames in quick succession just to hit the "dislike" button. Hmmm...
:-))
There will be a problem when a user posts many items in the same section at the same time. You had posted seven or eight music videos all at the same time.
When you do that with music items,
a) only two will appear on the front page and the others will only show up in the inside pages and will not get much attention,
b) music posts by others will be pushed out of the front page and get burried deeper in the inside pages. No one is posting half a dozen items in a single section at the same time.
If you wish to post many videos at the same time, do it in a blog. The editing tool in the blog has a "source" button. Click on it and you will then be able to paste embed codes for as many videos as you like.
User GhormehSabzi posts many things during the day but they are not all concentrated in one section. They are spread in different sections at different times of the day.
A reasonable number of posts with consideration to others would be ideal.
